Zinto Activation Group (ZAG) recently embarked on a national roadshow to offer their promotional staff a refresher training course in sales and marketing.
A team of highly skilled brand ambassadors took their expertise to all nine provinces, having realised that it would be difficult for the promoters to come to Johannesburg. The course included, amongst other topics, the fundamentals and the practice of sales and marketing, consumer consumption behaviour, the essentials of promotional activity, as well the professional conduct of a trained brand ambassador.
Michelle Combrinck, CEO of ZAG explains, “Many promoters have not been trained to understand what it means to be a good promoter or brand ambassador, one who engages with consumers, moves product and gives an edge to the brands they represent.” She adds that return on investment for clients means increased sales so a promoter needs to keep this top of mind. Successful brand activations depend on promoters being passionate about what they do and being sales savvy.
The national roadshow is leading up to ZAG launching their Brand Ambassador Training Academy (Bata) in Linbro Park in March/April 2012. The academy will provide valuable training in promotional activity free to the public, including learners and students. ZAG will also extend this programme throughout South Africa via training hubs in each of the provinces. |
